She came here last year to shoot for “Eat, Pray, Love”. Maybe the praying had quite an impact on H-wood’s pretty woman, because Julia Roberts has admitted that she’s a practicing Hindu, along with husband Danny Moder and her three children.
The family, she revealed, goes to the temple to “chant and pray and celebrate. I’m definitely a practicing Hindu,” said Julia. Asked if she’d like to be reincarnated, she said, “I’ve been so spoiled with my friends and family. Next time, I want to be something quiet and supporting.”
This isn’t the first time a religion from the Orient has charmed Hollywood. Richard Gere is H-wood’s most famous Buddhist, who’s joined by Steven Seagal, Tina Turner, Kate Bosworth and even Brad Pitt, who’s said to be one. Uma Thurman was born Buddhist. And Heidi Klum, her ‘Kali’ Halloween costume notwithstanding, renewed her marriage vows with Seal in a Hindu wedding ceremony in 2008. Some like to dabble and some are serious. Who knows, we might soon get to hear Hindu Hollywood names, wotsay?
