11-month-old Mille Boyle may not even be old enough to walk, but earlier this week, this clever baby managed to seek help for her mother Elizabeth, who’d collapsed in the hallway of their home.
Millie didn’t quite call 911 – but close: when her mother’s mobile phone began to ring, Millie answered it and began to speak to the person on the other end, her grandmother, Linda Wright. “Who’s that?” the baby said, and later, “Mama.”
Wright knew that Millie wasn’t permitted to play with her mother’s phone, and instantly realized that something must be wrong with Elizabeth, who has a history of fainting and other medical problems. She summoned an ambulance crew to the Boyle house in Essex, England.
Fortunately, Elizabeth had already woken up by the time the officials arrived, and after an examination, it turned out that no medical care was necessary. Elizabeth was confused about why the ambulance had come to the house, and was awe-stricken when she realized that her emergency medical service was the result of a smart move by her baby girl.
“She is a very clever little girl,” she told the Telegraph. “I was proud of her anyway but now she is even more special.”
